1995 Oskar Graf Koa 7 string

Oskar Graf is known for his flawlessly built, meticulously detailed, andgreat sounding guitars. But a 7 sting Koa? Has he outdone himself on thisone! Imagine a hybrid between a grand piano and a fingerstyle guitar andyou'll begin to understand what this instrument is all about. Koa has adryness and sparkle that works brilliantly with the low string - there isdefinition and clarity to notes as low as A, with little of the rubbery toneoften heard from the low string on a 7. The guitar sustains forever and hasan articulation that would make the most complex piece of music sing withclarity and musicality. Built with a Western Red Cedar top, ebony bridge andbound fingerboard, carved bone nut and saddle, hand-turned bridge-pins, anda super-thin hand-rubbed nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Aside from hisinstruments tone, Graf's attention to the small details is what sets himapart from so many of the other luthiers out there. Take a close look atthis guitar - the rosette, the back center strip, the purflings and theheadstock bindings, and you'll likely agree - this is a fine instrument.Body width at the lower bout is 16", scale length of 25.6", nut width of2-1/16", string spacing at the bridge of 2-13/32". It has a repaired 3" longtop crack on the upper bass bout, about an inch from the edge of thefingerboard. Equipped with a Fishman Matrix pickup, and sold with a deluxeTKL hard shell case.
