2007 Collings MT2R Gloss Blacktop

A black-top Collings MT2 with red spruce and figured red maple tonewoods, tonebar bracing, and ivoroid details. It’s been been played a lot and has a nicely developed voice and a great feel. Plenty of chop thanks to the stiffer red spruce top, which makes this a great choice for some bluegrass picking, if that’s your thing.

There are small cracks at each f-hole that have been glued sometime down the road, and the back of the neck has had its finish removed for a fast and smooth playing experience. Apart from an added strap button on the heel of the neck and a minor finish repair on the side, the instrument is otherwise original and in good condition. Excellent top arch and bridge fit, crack free back and sides, original tuners, nut, and frets. Mild to medium fret wear visible on the first 5 frets, setup here at Folkway.
