2013 Collings I-35, Faded Cherry

A gorgeous Collings I-35 with a deep red, faded cherry finish over a figured maple top. Nickel hardware, black plastic accents, ivoroid bindings and tuner buttons and simple dot fretboard inlays give the guitar a traditionally classy look, while Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers, hand-carved top, one-piece carved back and sides and a maple centerblock give the I-35 its traditional airy, responsive and complex, tone.

This example is in great shape and completely original. It shows a small area of belt buckle impressions on the back, light dings on the back of the neck, and a few minor dents on the body and headstock. The frets show light playwear and play cleanly, and the finish remains quite clean overall. We’ve just set the guitar up with 10-46 strings and enjoy its snarl and comfortable neck carve.

The pickups measure 7.2k and 8.5k, and the guitar weighs 7.1 lb. 24-7/8” scale, 1-11/16” nut width, and 1st fret depth of .855”. Round 1950’s C carved neck, compound radius fretboard, and 47/90 fretwire.
