Nechville Zeus
This Zeus model features Nechville’s Helimount head tightening system and Cyclotronic ball bearing rim/tone ring interface. It’s a genius design and works beautifully. Head tension adjustment is fantastically easy. You’ll also notice that there’s no 5th string tuner in the ‘normal’ place. Instead, the 5th string passes through a brass tube beneath the fingerboard that emerges in the headstock face, just behind the nut. This makes for a remarkably free playing experience - especially for those of you who play banjo upside down! The neck joint attachment has been rethought as well, featuring a quick-cam angle adjustable heel, which allows you to optimize the saddle height to suit your playing style and tone demands. Beyond all that, the Zeus features guitar-style tuning machines, a radiused fingerboard for playing comfort, Timber-Tronic wooden tone ring for incredible weight relief, frosted head, compensated bridge, and gold-plated lacquered metal parts.
The Timber-Tronic tone ring on this banjo offers a slightly warmer voice and woody ring. While not your typically bright and cutting bluegrass sound, this tone ring and head combination is a great hybrid option for those players who favour lower chiropractic bills than pedal-to-the-metal volume.
The neck and resonator are made of beautifully figured maple, finished with a dark amber tinted high gloss sunburst finish.
