1950 Martin 00-18

Serial # 115226. An incredibly fine early post-war war 00-18. The guitar is perfect, for lack of a better word: a small pickguard crack is its biggest flaw, it has no internal repairs of any kind, the finish is in excellent condition, the tuners and nut are original, and the original bridge has never been modified. Add to that a very cleanly done neck reset, refret and new saddle, perfect playability, a delightfully comfortable neck carve, and some of the best mahogany small-body tone imaginable. This is a guitar we won't soon forget here at Folkway.

Mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce top, tortoise-celluloid bindings and pickguard, rosewood bridge and fingerboard, Kluson tuners, bone saddle, newer plastic bridgepins and endpin. Classic late 1940's neck profile, with a fairly round moderately full feel in the first position tapering to a chunkier rounded V as you move up the neck. 24.9" scale length, 1-11/16"nutwidth. Set-up in our shop.

The guitar has a thick and meaty tone, with a good amount of warmth, a surprising bass-end register, and the classic Martin well-aged and well opened up midrange that can happen to a sixty year old steel string!

With newer high-quality hardshell case
