A refined modern take on a vintage classic, the Player's Edition 6120 Nashville takes the 6120 Chet Atkins model of the mid-1950s to new heights with a number of upgrades that make it a much more reliable and player-friendly instrument.
Designed with comfort in mind, the Player's Edition 6120 features a slimmer 2.25" deep body and rolled fingerboard edges for a more ergonomic playing experience than a traditional 6120 may offer. All new ML-bracing, a half trestle-style pattern, allows the body to resonate freely and produce a rich and open acoustic voice, regardless of its slightly truncated depth. A string-through Bigsby tailpiece and locking Gotoh tuning machines makes for a significantly improved, less time consuming string-changing process. The addition of Gretsch's "luminlay" side dots makes finding your spot on the fretboard on a dark stage easier than ever.
Equipped with a pair of DynaSonic pickups, the Player's Edition 6120 offers a vintage-voice true to the guitars built in the mid 1950s. Expect a rich, clear, and open response from the bridge pickup with excellent top end chime. The neck pickup delivers a warmth and excellent note separation. With a newly designed treble bleed circuit, the pickups maintain all of their sparkle and chime as the volume knob is rolled back.
This lightly used Gretsch build remains in excellent, near-mint cosmetic condition. The finish is largely play-wear free, and the gold plated hardware is untarnished. The original frets are perfect and unworn, suggesting that this guitar has seen very little playtime over the last few years.
Scale length of 24.6". First fret depth of 0.819", ninth fret depth of 0.893". Nut width of 1-21/32". Both pickups have a DC reading of 8.0K. Weight of 6lbs 3oz. Set up in our shop.
