c.1970 Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi
This early '70 Big Muff remains in very good condition considering it was stepped on over and over and over and over for the last five decades. The pedal arrived here with several non-original Robertson screws installed which we have subsequently replaced with more appropriate Phillips head screws. While the original rubber track on the back was removed so that the unit could be installed on a pedal board, the part was saved and is included with the sale. The only visible pot code is dated to 1966. This second version of the Triangle Big Muff features an "on/off" knob, a feature that first appears in 1970.
This vintage fuzz pedal offers up incredible distortion tones that are thick, full bodied, and brimming with exciting harmonic content. It's a surprisingly versatile pedal that can cover everything from light fuzz tones with plenty of top end sparkle to a huge wall-of-fuzz response that is warm and dark. It’s a whole lot of fun. The pedal responds well to just about any pickup you put through it, making it the perfect addition to any studio arsenal or pedal board.
